Market Update December 2011

It’s been quite a year for sharemarkets around the world, and in this edition of Market Update the attention remains firmly on Europe with central banks agreeing to co-ordinate to ease pressure on markets.

While this is positive news, Europe still has a long way to go before we see real, tangible improvements.

There’s also reason to be quietly cheerful with data out of the US pointing to slow economic growth.

Other key points from this edition include:

  • China’s economy continues to show signs of slowing, and
  • RBA cut rates by another 0.25%

Similar to what we’ve seen recently, markets continue to remain uncertain in the short term, so remember to remain focused on your long-term goals.

If you’d like to discuss anything in this report please give my office a call.
And, don’t forget to enjoy the holiday period with family and friends.
Kind regards,
