Risk Specialist Network
Last week I attended the Risk Specialist Network conference at Kingscliff on the NSW North Coast. Some of the best people in our industry were there. We heard from an industry panel that included John Brogden, former NSW Liberal leader. Craig Rispin spoke about How to think like a Futurist. Anthony Bell of Bell Partners, who runs the largest single partner accounting business in the world, spoke about his business. But perhaps the session that moved us most was that of Grant Taylor, a Melbourne based planner. In December 2009 Grant suffered bleeding in the front of his brain. Since then he has suffered physically and emotionally. But he did have trauma (or critical Illness) and income protection policies. In fact prior to making his trauma claim he was spending about $30k pa on his personal insurances. But he knew he needed it. Since then he has been able to send his wife and children on planned overseas trips, and spend $7k on new braces for his adopted daughter. The passion came through.
